Believe it or not many people who do get a fresh start find themselves covered in debt about a year later. We as society are so used to being consumed by financial debt that we feel that we have to have all kinds of material things to keep us happy.
Remember the pain that you felt when you were struggling to pay off your debts? Well hopefully you got through the holidays without having to worry about carrying over balances from gifts that you purchased.
However if you have filed bankruptcy then the main thing is learn how to live debt free. Now I am not saying that you can not enjoy doing the things that you love to do or that you can not make a purchase of the things that you would love to have; however you have to be smart about it.
Before you purchase anything you always want to make sure that you do need it. Also another thing that you want to ensure is that you can afford it. If you do not have the cash to pay for it; then maybe you can do without.
You have to begin thinking differently about your money. If you begin watching how you spend your money; then you can live debt free. Believe me it is a lot better than having to worry about how you are going to pay for the bills this month.
One of the most difficult things that I found almost impossible to is to teach your family how to think differently about money. It is hard to teach your children that just because they want something does not mean that they are going to be able to get it.
So sit back and think about it what have you been teaching your children about money? Do you get them whatever they want whenever they want it?
